WHEN GOD PROVIDES!

Surely we get a job, work hard mainly to pay for our bills. But did you know that our jobs, the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the starbucks we drink and all the blessings that you can think of come from God.

It was nearly a year when I started planning for my husband’s fiftieth surprise birthday celebration. I made myself plan for almost a whole year to make it easier for me when the time comes. But when that time came, which just this past weekend, I did not realize how hard it was going to be.

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty,” and see I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Malachi 3:10

Fifty is a big deal! I wanted to give him the greatest gift a wife could ever give, of course, but how could I afford it? I started looking at my budget and how much I could spend. I did not want to use my credit card to pay for the food. I know God will provide, but will it be enough and where will it come from?

Most of us would love not to worry about money. We would have our own personal financial advisor to help us navigate unexpected expenses, vacation plans, and economic turns. Like all good financial advisors, God has a plan for our money, but His plan is much more superior than our accountant or advisors can make. The bible said, set aside ten percent. The Lord does not need our money, but He knows that we need to give. Doing so with a generous and willing heart shows the character of Christ in our life and is a way to worship and honor Him.

A week before the celebration, I received my yearly bonus, more than enough to pay for the food and decorations. I can not be more thankful how gracious is my Father, our Father, Jesus, who is a giver who gave His life for our salvation. This is just one of the many other situations that I can tell you. Remember to always trust Him with our finances. Remember to tithe and give offerings, because you can never out-give your loving heavenly Father.

Honor the Lord with your wealth, with firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. Proverbs 3:9-10
