Many of us have new set goals or resolutions, new budget lists, and new stuff from Christmas. Have we thought about our marriage? Or just ourselves?
So we fix our eyes on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18

How is your marriage? Have we see new goals to keep the spark to our marriage? Many divorces occur because people suddenly feel a need to run off and find themselves. But that’s not the way God wants us to think. That is not the way God wants us to discover who we are and what His intention for us. The Lord controls every situation, and if we are serious about learning our purpose and identity, we must consider our circumstances and saving our marriage.
If you are a married person. the Bible clearly says that God wants you to be the best spouse that you could be. If you have children, He wants you to be a parent. Our identity and purpose do not end with these roles, but they are a core component of God’s will.
God’s words must be the first things we run to find ourselves. God has expressly stated his will. We cannot break His laws to conform to our needs and desires, but we still do; we must conform ourselves to His will and rely on Him to meet our needs. When we do, we will be amazed to discover the incredible value of our true identity. He has an amazing plan for us.
All this also comes from the Lord Almighty, whose plan is wonderful, whose wisdom is magnificent. Isaiah 28:29
Ask yourself, what will I do different for my marriage this new year?
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person, new spouse, new parent by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.
